Service of Reflection and Prayer, at 6.15pm (18h15)

Dear friends of St Peter’s

Following the death of the Queen, we have decided to change the purpose and format of our gathering this evening that was initially planned as an aperitif de rentrée.  We are conscious that our community is composed of both commonwealth and non-commonwealth members and that this news may resonate differently amongst us.

The Diocese has invited us to open our Church for public prayer and commemoration and to be open to anyone who is looking for a place to go to express their feelings and respond in prayer.

We will be opening the Church at 6pm and at 6.15 the Reverend Chris Martin will lead us in a short service of reflection and prayer that will be followed by an opportunity to sign a book of condolences.

For those who cannot come to sign the book, there is an online condolences book “Remembering Her Majesty The Queen”https://www.churchofengland.org/remembering-her-majesty-queen

We will be gathering afterwards for light refreshments in the Church centre.

We fully understand that some may prefer to remain at home this evening.

The Reverend Chris Martin will be available for pastoral support and can be contacted on 09.82.45.83.40 between 10h and 16h.

The condolences of Bishop Robert in both English and French can be found here: https://europe.anglican.org/main/latest-news/post/1842-bishop-robert-offers-condolences-as-the-queens-death-is-announced
